Hand Cream Review: L’Occitane and Crabtree & Evelyn

Do you ever feel like that you don’t want to blog, tweet, comment on posts or go to an event every now and then? Well, that’s pretty much how I felt like last week! At the same time I couldn’t just disappear off my blog and twitter because I felt guilty for not interacting with my readers, replying to my emails and answering my tweets! Then again we all need a break every now and then, even from something we’re passionate about!

I’ll try to blog more this week and hopefully I’ll get my “blogging mojo” back in the next few days. I don’t want to disappear off the blogosphere, not yet! To get myself going I thought I’d start February with a fairly short post or that’s the aim anyways.
Hand Cream Review: L'Occitane Cherry Blossom, L'Occitane Delightful Rose, rabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy Pear and Pink Magnolia, rabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy La SourceHand Cream Review: L'Occitane Cherry Blossom, L'Occitane Delightful Rose, rabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy Pear and Pink Magnolia, rabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy La Source

Although we are one month closer to the summer, the outside temperature is not getting warmer. In fact, if you’re reading this post on the days it’s publish, you might have even noticed that today is the coldest day this year! Hence it’s rather important to keep our hands warm and moisturised!

In today’s post I’ll be sharing with you four hand creams that I currently love and always keep in my handbags! Yes, one for each handbag! This way, I’ll never forget to bring a hand cream! 😉

Both the L’Occitane and Crabtree & Evelyn hand creams are fantastic! My hands feel super soft after using these! The major difference between these hand creams is the scent and packaging.

Nevertheless, there’s also a small variation in terms of texture. L’Occitane Hand Cream is a little thicker and more buttery-like that takes a little longer to absorb than Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy. As suggested, Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy is more lotion-like and absorbs quickly!

Based on the texture, I personally think that the L’Occitane Hand Creams work best during the colder month whilst Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy is best for the summer.

Here is what I think of the scents:

L’Occitane Hand Cream – Cherry Blossom:
Imagine walking into a garden filled with cherry blossom! That’s what this hand cream smells like. It reminds me of of fresh flowers in spring, but at the same time it smells calm and soothing.
L’Occitane Hand Cream – Delightful Rose:
I thought this one had the strongest scent out of the four hand creams. I’m not a big fan of rose scented beauty products, but this one was different as it smelt like fresh cut rose!
Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy – Pear and Pink Magnolia:
The perfect blend of fruit and flower. It’s got a fresh floral tone topped with a sweet fruity scent! This is definitely my favourite out of all four because it reminds me of summer.
Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy – La Source:
Now what on earth is La Source? The key ingredients used here are from the sea such as mineral salt and underwater algae. I love this scent because it’s refreshing and relaxing, but it also has a slight musky tone.

Overall I’m really happy with these hand creams! They all smell fab and they fit nicely in my hand bag! 🙂

I am deeply in love with L'Occitane hand creams, they've been my lifesavers for so many dry skin situations! I love the cherry blossom, and the one with orange scent they used to have (not sure if it is still available), plus the original is always a great choice!

I love L'Occitane hand creams and you'll generally always find one in my bag but I am tempted to try the La Source scent from Crabtree & Evelyn. You can never have too many hand creams this time of year xx

I've recently started using the Crabtree and Evelyn hand cream I received at the Blogger event you organised and I'm really loving it. 🙂 I got the lavender one and I like applying it before bed so the scent also helps me relax and sleep well. x

And by the way… I definitely feel like that about blogging at the moment. I don't know… last year I invested so much time and energy into blogging, it got to a point I was feeling like I didn't do anything else. I was neglecting my time with my husband, fun time, me time and other hobbies too, like reading. So this year I decided to hit the brake and slow down. I'm now blogging only once or twice a week (depending on how I feel about it) and I've been really enjoying it. Blogging is just a hobby for me and I needed to find a good balance. No point in blogging as an 'obligation'. It needs to be in a pace that makes us happy. So don't push yourself. Do it when you feel like doing it. 🙂 x

Occitaine products are lush arent they. I sometimes feel a bit drained- I think if you're creative life goes like that, some days you have a million ideas and other days you're just stuck! I find taking a few days off really helps, and then I feel re-energised and ready to get back into it. I find looking at things I find inspiring really helps too, like finding new blogs or tumblr's!
