This Bourjois Happy Light Foundation came out not so long ago and it’s become a “happy spotlight” in the beauty blogosphere. I am not a huge fan of foundations because I’m more of “look natural with minimum coverage” girl, so most of the complexion correction stuff I use on my face are BB creams, CC creams and tinted moisturisers (Foundation Alternatives). Although I do refer my skin looking a little flawed, there are special occasions in my life that require me to have porcelain looking skin.
I was aiming for the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum when I stepped into Boots a few weeks ago because everyone’s raving about it, but I did end up getting Bourjois Happy Light Foundation because it was on deal (typically me) and the Golden Beige shade matched my skin colour almost perfectly!

Bourjois Happy Light Foundation – Texture
Bourjois Happy Light Foundation (£11.99/30ml)
“Happy Light foundation gives a luminous and flawless complexion in any light. Its translucent pigments correct without masking giving your complexion a flawless radiance. Its supple texture glides smoothly onto the skin for a flawless complexion with no caking. Result: complexion is left luminous and flawless for 16 hrs* in any light with an ultra-natural finish.“
(Smell): The scent of this foundation is like an artificial perfume, but it’s what you’d expect when the ingredients are not derived from nature. However, I only ever use it once a month so I will accept it for now.
(Texture): The light texture, in terms of foundation, makes it easy to blend and build, which also means lighter coverage. I would say that the overall coverage is medium, but that is good enough for my current skin condition.
(Results): What I found most interesting about this foundation is that I thought it looked cakey on my skin (all foundations do) just by look at it, but oh my gosh, it always makes my face look healthy and flawless in all of my photos. In terms of colour, I think I was very lucky this time because I have a tendency to pick the wrong shade when it comes to anything coverage related. The shade I opted for is No53 Golden Beige, which looks very dark, but it blends out really nicely. It was definitely long lasting, 5 to 8 hours I’d say.
It looks gorgeous! I wish Bourjois was light enough to match my skin as well as this!

Thank you! Yeah, this foundation only comes in 5 shades apparently, but hopefully they'll add more 🙂 x
Looks gorgeous on you! I have recently gotten into liquid foundation but have only tried the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation and LOVE it. I have been wanting to branch out and try other's. Have always heard great things about Bourjois. Your skin looks flawless and you look beautiful xx
Thank you so much!!!! I hardly ever use foundation, but I really like this one. This is the first Bourjois foundation I've tried and I can understand why everyone's raving about it. 😛 x
Simply flawless! Love your blush as well. 🙂

Yeah, it blends out nicely and looks good under any sort of lighting – Happy Light!
Their chocolate bronzer is on my "to buy list" x
Your skin does look really good!
Thank you! with a bit of foundation of course 😉 x
wow this is looking so amazing
Thanks! It is truly amazing! x
I really want to try this but I tried the healthy mix serum and the undertones really didn't work with my skin so I'm worried the same will happen here – But it looks so good!
Your skin looks just perfect with it! xx
That's a shame… I haven't tired Healthy Mix Serum, so I don't know much about the difference. This one has a yellowish undertone x
I sure do want to pick this up at some point as it sounds very good for a high street product. I really like Bourjous foundations in general so I'm sure I will get along quite well with this.

I've heard so much good things about the Bourjois foundations, which is why I went for it. It's definitely worth it 🙂 x
