Once again, I was super lucky to be invited to a
bloggers event! I heard about the #julylondonmeetup on Twitter at the beginning
of July because people I followed were talking about it. Therefore, I
immediately emailed Helen (Beautifully Superfluous), who was organising this event to put me on the
waiting list. Weeks went by without any news, but as mean as it sounds I really
hoped that someone will drop out (sorry, if you are reading this). However, a
couple of days ago Helen emailed me back saying that there is a space available
after all! I was joyous and started designing my blog business cards straight
away. As a relatively (ex-)shy person, I use every opportunity I can to extend
my comfort zone and meet new people. I always feel that good conversations
reflect positive energy.

About the event: the #julylondonmeetup took place at Tiger
Tiger Haymarket! When I arrived I immediately started talking to Emma (Meet the Millards), who I
almost recognised from Twitter. While I was getting a drink (diet coke, if you
are interested :P), I had a nice conversation with the beautiful Claire (Pink Chick Claire)! In addition, it
was nice seeing/recognising some lovely bloggers from previous events, among
others: Grace (All that Slap), Ana (We all Think Differently), Islay
(Islaay) and Kat (Tales of a Pale Face). This time
round I didnโt swap many business cards as most people didnโt seem to have them,
but the ones I got included April-Lily (A Pretty Wardrobe) and Georgina (Makeup Pixi3). In addition, I swapped
cards with company representatives from: Kekeli Radiance (all natural handmade
beauty product company hoping to launch in October), Apivita (oldest Greek manufacturer of
natural personal care products. Natural-effective-holistic products inspired by
Hippocrates, Greek Flora and Bees) and Paperself
Lashes (as featured in the Hunger Games). Towards the end, I chatted quite a bit with Sophie (Imitation
is the Greatest form of Flattery); we wanted to stick together because as Londoners we were indifferent to where
we end up shopping! As for the shopping part? Yes, it was very hectic navigating 30 bloggers around Oxford Street! We did split up into smaller groups though, I was with Claire, Sophie and Rachel (Beauty Queen UK).

Picture + Caption Time!
Look at this pretty cake! It’s so cute that no one dared to dig into it, but all the cakepops seem to have disappeared
By the end of the meet up, most of us were rocking these amazing Paperself lashes around Oxford Street
I opted for the Lace Garden one, which apparently looked very natural on me (bottom right) ๐
I didn’t manage to take a group picture so I am using the one from Emma’s (Meet the Millards) camera.
I went to a friend’s party afterwards with my beautiful lashes. Guess how many weird looks I got! But it was definitely a great conversation starter; “that beauty blogging engineer with big lashes”. I’m really impressed that my make up and lashes stayed on for more than 12 hours!
Not to mention, the goody bag!!!! I want to try out EVERYTHING! Guess what I’m doing next week?
In addition, feel free to check out some other bloggers who were at the July London Meet Up (that I only briefly talked to or briefly saw). In total, there were about 30 bloggers (11 mentioned above) and 3 company representatives.
Catherine – Lux Life
Christina – Style Storey
Clair – Bags, Bows and Boots
Clare – A Bit of This and That
Ellie – Style & Starbucks
Helen – Unevenlemming Beauty
Lauren – Laurenella
Lisa – Lisahh-Jayne
Natalie – Natalie Roseanne
Natasha – Shot of Beauty
Poppy – Let’s Drive Far Away
Sam – sjmwell
Sasha – Ramblings of a Beauty Bird
